There was a guy on HSX who claimed that Robocop wasn't an anti-capitalist satire, but a Christ metaphor.

OK, Verhoeven himself says that Robocop's journey of death and rebirth and saving us all is a Christ metaphor, but the two things aren't inconsistent..
