So this sucks and I can't think of anything I can do to 'make it better' and it really bothers me.

As with all things Texas, this story happens at HEB. My brother's boyfriend, who is black Puerto Rican, was walking out of the local HEB yesterday when this happened (abridged, from FB):
"Nothing like walking in to and out of your local HEB (grocery store) and having some older white native Texan male tell his wife as a car is approaching dangerously close "Oh, it's ok if he gets run over (pointing to me)", then as I turn back, he stares me down while reaching for his hip as if I was being provocative. I had two hand fulls of groceries. I'm a real threat by way of bok choy and udon noodles. "
That just sucks. How are people like that in this day and age? And why?
And I hate that I can't do anything to make it better. Like, I can't bake a "racists suck" cake. (I would if I could)
