In response to "12,000 auditoriums X 225 seats X $10 ticket X 18 shows a day X a 60% occupancy=$291.6M" by Remlik

in looking at my area there aren't that maximized number of showings

at every theater. and nothing overnight, as of now, that I can see, past 1-something - they could be added, though.

that said, when I went digging more, it's possible I had to stifle saying "holy crap" out loud.

I already knew ticket cost is higher for most shows, than 10; but here's the exclamation inducer: for local showings there are a bunch of theaters in the mix that generally don't do big films, and, it's pretty danged impressive that it will be in just about every theater that shows first-run films. I think that's unprecedented in recent times.

if (and that's a big if right now because there just aren't that many sellouts yet) even regular-time showings are at decent fill-rates, man.

the theater with the most sellouts is right near google hq. I'd guess they, and some other companies, are doing group events.
