So while I was in Sacramento for the marathon, I found this cool bar.

Umm..er...actually...
I found it during the marathon....
Min/Mile Pace Through mile 5: 9:45 or so
5-14: Let's call it 10 min or so
Then it starts to get ugly, 10:30's 11's , 11:30
(there is a point to this...)
Mile 22: 14:16
Mile 23: 14:46
Mile 24: 17:11 <-- This is the point
Mile 25: 14:36
About two blocks short of mile 24...that's where The Bonn Lair is...right on the course...and they had set up the patio with a whole row of plastic pints of Guinness..
And they were calling to runners to stop for free beer.
Ok..at that point, I was already over my hoped for goal time with 2.3? 2.4 miles to go...
So I had the thought that I've passed other such offers in other races but I'm racing and I can't afford the time...so I pull out my phone and check my time to verify exactly how things are or aren't going...and the hell with it...how many times am I ever going to have a beer during a marathon.
Of course by the time I do all of this figuring out, even with the slow pace I'm doing, I'm all but past the bar and I'm walking on the opposite side of the street so quick glance for my fellow runners who are actually running, I make a nearly 90 deg turn, cut across two lanes and end up at the bar.
Mutter something about I'll take you up on your offer, grab a plastic cup and start drinking. And keep drinking. Take the time to say few lines about how things are not going well out there so at least I have this to remember and maybe it'll help numb the leg that's giving me issues.
Think about the support crew who is approaching the finish line area on my behalf..shut up...go back to finishing the pint. Say my thanks..and actually run away for the bar (I was more or less walking in the approach to the bar).
Unfortunately that only lasts about a half mile by my estimates so the numbing part didn't hold up but I guess with the running, it cuts down the added time to about 3:30 so that's not bad
But I guess I can say that the race is my current PR (personal record) for the marathon distance while having at least one beer during the event.
