LYC, but I've been helping my mom get out some late Christmas decorations today, and i've decided that, come Springtime, it's time to ...

have a garage sale and throw out some old stuff. not necessarily *Christmas stuff*, but just stuff that has accumulated over the years in the basement. Long story short is that the backyard has a good slope to it, and the far end of the "basement" actually opens up onto the back yard. When the house was build about 45 yrs ago, i think that the far end of the basement (separated by a wall from the rest of the basement) was meant to be a secondary garage. anyway, it's housed lawn mowers and tools and such over the years, and has generally become a storehouse for stuff that should have been gotten rid of long ago. i think if i slipped a box or two of junk out per week and threw most of it away and burned the rest (they have a lot of old 'paperwork' from 10+ yrs ago), most of it will never be missed.
