In response to "You seem to be placing a higher value on the life experiences of a minority over a white person, all other data points being equal." by The Death Sceire

On a campus where there are many more white people than black people, the addition of one more white person doesn't add as much to broaden the

represented perspectives and add to the diversity of experiences that a person of color adds. There is plenty of white life experience already represented. You know corporate America recognizes this. Most businesses look for diversity in their service providers. Not just because it makes them feel better or look better, but because they actually feel that it helps them in dealing with their customers and issues that they have to deal with. Broader perspectives help them improve their products and approaches. This is the same thing. We have many clients that request diversity statistics from them because they want to work with more diverse firms.
