I don't see how it was a gamble

More often than not on any leg people keep their cabs during the challenges. I would estimate it at 75% of the time people keep their cab so it's more the accepted best strategy than a gamble. I agree that cabs tend to have a big influence on the race in general but in this case the right choice was to keep the cab at any price.
Besides, has money ever been an issue in the race other than the times where they took money away from the last place finishers in a non elimination leg?
