Looking at Kasdan's track record as writer, I'm pretty firmly on board with "not gonna suck".

A poor director can kill great writing. Abrams isn't a poor director. And if the complaint against his Star Trek is that it was too Star Wars, I'm looking forward to seeing just how Star Wars his Star Wars can be. :-)
