Your're missing several of the points. Since the prequels a few things happened...

A. The kids who actually liked them have grown up and want to see new movies.

B. The Parents/Grandparents of those kids want to see a new movie.

C. New parents want to see a Star Wars movie with their kids and want to watch good movies and not the prequels. And having the original stars draws those pissed off fans of the prequel back.

D. The ORIGINAL STARS ARE BACK. I think you and David just don't 'get' how big a deal that is. That draws in the jaded 40-50 somethings who hated the prequels.

you're trying to apply a formula to an equation that's changed.
