It's irrational optimism before the records are broken and a lot of "well, the signs were there" afterward.

I have no idea if TFA will beat Jurassic Park for opening weekend, but pre-sales indicate it will.

I have no idea if Christmas will be a drag, but if any film can make the holiday irrelevant, it's this one.

The hype/enthusiasm is real and I see no reason why that won't translate into a record breaking box office.
