In looking at the types of films that have held the box office records of late: Avengers, Jurassic Park, etc, I think SW fans are kings of the hill.

They were the first geeks. Now everyone embraces the type of stuff that SW fans trumpeted. Everyone loves geek culture now.

This is where I think the enthusiasm is coming from. People who weren't SF fans 15 years ago, are now. The audience for SW is larger now than when TPM was released. That matters and I think you and David might be missing or at least downplaying that.

I may be wrong. Just a week to know for sure. But I'm betting that the geeks are more numerous than many people think.
