I enjoyed all of Tennant's episodes and Smith's through to the arrival of Clara.

Once Clara arrives, Smith's run begins to decline. After the second half of season 7 the show goes to shit and if you stop when Clara arrives you won't have missed anything worth seeing.

Don't even bother with the Capaldi episodes. The acting is still good, but the writing is just juvenile and shoddy.
