That is what I've been waiting since Jedi for. Fan-fucking-tastic!
There was such love for the original films without it being a pathetic fawning.
There were so many echoes of things from A New Hope that I'd have a hard time listing them all.
-Rey and BB-8 first meeting, the conversation is patterned after C-3PO and R2 when they first arrive on Tatooine.
-Rey and Finn repairing the Falcon patterned after Han and Chewie doing the same.
-Finn finding the remote Luke first used to practice with his lightsaber on the falcon.
And some great humor and character.
"I can run without you holding my hand!"
"The garbage will have to do!"
And the old characters were introduced flawlessly. Especially the Falcon.
It's weird that I can say I loved this film, but that it involved saying goodbye to Han, but it was done so well, and had purpose to the story. I'm glad Chewie got in a shot at Kylo.
The reunion between Leia and Han being interrupted by C-3PO was perfect.
I think I see where they are intending to go. Rey and Ren are likely brother and sister, but Han's reaction to her seems off for that to be the case. Maybe Leia was pregnant when Ren went full Vader and Han left without knowing?
Rey using the mind trick to get free was so good. "And you'll drop your weapon." "And I'll drop my weapon" was delivered perfectly.
"Do you have a trash compactor?"
"You made the Kessel run in 14 parsecs!" I actually said "12" in unison with Solo.
I'm going to have to see it again. This movie made me deliriously happy.
