They rightly and ably made Finn and Rey the center. The characters feel like real people. The kid actors are great. Not a wrong note that I remember. There was one moment when Ridley surprised me...when she's fighting Ren and she's about to go over the cliff and then she realizes she's Force Sensitive - she makes that transition entirely in her face. It's a subtle and wonderful bit of acting. That got me near as much as the big death.
