I have a Nexus Player. I think the NVIDIA Shield is considered the all around best.

Roku and Fire TV are also up near the top.
A lot depends on which services/apps you require. Some devices don't support Amazon Prime or HBO Go, for example. Some don't support Kodi, which is a must have for many people (especially cord cutters).
