I agree point 5 doesn't work. Basically, good movies have good legs and bad movies have poor legs.

Who the audience is is another big factor. Movies aimed at teenagers, who go see movies on opening weekend have less staying power than movies aimed at +25s, who are more likely to see a movie in its second, third or fourth week.
The HSX multiplier probably is getting less accurate, but there are other factors there too - a more crowded market, etc
