and no I'm not going for the cheap shot of bigotry and I kind of resent that you're implying that we are. Trump is feeding them back their own egos as well as a general sense of "America, Fuck Yeah!" - which if you look at the demos he's attracting - lower to lower middle class whites - are a group that responds well to being told that they're right. Plus, they've been sold a bill of goods about America that the right-wing hasn't been able to deliveron, so of course they're going to respond to someone telling them their leaders aren't effective (Trump would of course get nothing done as President as the rest of Washington would seize up in protest, but we haven't gotten to that point yet).
It's tragic, in a sense, that they are supporting policies that are the exact opposite of what they need. They're being taken for a ride by the rich right-wingers and told that what they need is a second helping.
Trump is somehow not the worst candidate in the field (he's at least semi-rational economically) and I'd take him over Cruz, Carson and Huckabee, but that's like asking which body part you want shot.
