THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF STORMS IS ON TRACK TO BEGIN MONDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL INCREASE TO MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW BY NOON MONDAY. AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW AND DRIFTING SNOW ACROSS THE MOUNTAINOUS AND VALLEY REGIONS OF SOUTHWEST IDAHO AND SOUTHEAST OREGON ARE
EXPECTED AS WELL. LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW ABOVE 3500 FEET SHOULD CONTINUE EARLY TUESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING THEN HEAVIER AS THE SNOW LINE DROPS TO 2500 FEET.
SNOWFALL RATES SHOULD RETURN LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
SNOW LEVELS WILL FLUCTUATE...AND RAIN EXPECTED BELOW MOUNTAIN HOME, BOISE AND ONTARIO BELOW THE I-84 CORRIDOR...MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY LATE AFTERNOON.
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 8 AM MST TUESDAY...ADDITIONAL WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ISSUED THROUGH fRIDAY THE 25TH.
THE WINTER STORM WARNINGS INCLUDE WEST CENTRAL AND BOISE MOUNTAINS...BOISE VALLEY...CAMAS PRAIRIE PRAIRIE...TREASURE VALLEY AND PRAIRIE...AND UPPER WEISER RIVER BASIN.
* SNOW AMOUNTS...6 TO 12 INCHES ACROSS MOUNTAIN VALLEYS AND 12 TO 18 INCHES OVER HIGHER PEAKS. THE UPPER WEISER BASIN WILL RECEIVE 2 TO 5 INCHES OF NEW SNOW...WITH 5 TO 8 INCHES ACROSS THE TREASURE VALLEY AND CAMAS PRAIRIE. SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW IS EXPECTED IN THESE AREAS.
* WINDS...SOUTHEAST TO SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...TRENDING

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW-COVERED...SNOW-PACKED...AND/OR ICY. SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW IS LIKELY.
