As a lot of you know, due to involved economic circumstances, I took a job at the local store of a very well known, very large retailer.

I've been in a few departments, and I finally landed in one (Sporting Goods) that has reinvigorated something inside of me. I have plans to do something with that in 2016 that I need to just get off my ass and do. I'm hopeful for the future.

But that is besides the point of this post.

What I wanted to share is that at this very large, very well known retailer (infamous for abusing its employees) that I've been feeling taken advantage of, unnoticed, and unappreciated. Only my future plans and the pride I take in doing my job to the best of my abilities, not to the acceptable level, kept me going at times.

So thinking that none of the management noticed me, I was absolutely gobsmacked at the Christmas party when I was named the 2015 Employee of the Year.
