If she was being trained by Luke up until being a young teenager, then was dumped off on the planet with a wiped memory, it would make sense.

At the same time, if she were in the same Jedi training school, and a powerful Jedi, especially Luke's daughter, Ben should have recognized her by appearance or by power.
