The state doesn't want the jury to see or know that he was clearly confused and being manipulated. Though I think you can see that clearly in the first few hours. I can't believe anyone without bias could watch that "confession" and think he's not being coerced and manipulated. That the jury doesn't seem to see it is beyond me. They should check the water in that town because there's something wrong with those people.
