I had the opposite reaction...the flaws receded.

But I'm looking to see what was hacked out of it. And then what they do with the next one. That's the one that will show what they've got.

JJ is great at taking a classic material and distilling it down to it's best parts. But he's not capable of making something on his own. Notice that he's not directing the next one. I'm totally fine with that.
