I had a lot of strange coins when 3oC debuted. I don't have as many now.
The best method for farming exotics if prison of elders when one of the levels has 3 bosses. You can do it quickly, you have 3 shots, and you get some strange coins back at the end.
After getting through Golgoroth challenge 3 times yesterday I can get all 3 characters to 315, I think. I could probably get my warlock to 318 if I could just get a primary over 310. The Oryx challenge seems unlikely, though, and my IB rewards were all armor.
