Everyone flies LAX-HNL

Hawaiian airlines flies HNL-PPT

Air New Zealand flies PPT-AKL (and then onward to Australia)
Air Tahiti Nui also flies PPT-AKL, but you would need to change airlines on AKL.

You can fly LAX - (someplace) - Santiago Chile. Then fly LAN airlines from Santiago to PPT. Then onward from PPT as above. SCL - PPT is 4934 miles though.
