I've shared my stepfather (who died a few years ago) had some years of being a gambling addict, with his primary poison being lottery tickets (drawings included).
he had some "systems" he really thought would do it, even or odd numbers, order in random, multiple, etc.
nutso, for thinking there'd be an edge; but, aside from not being able to afford what he spent, it's as ML says.
