so I ran out of checks last week*. I ended up paying a StupidTax for some to arrive this week.

out of possible alternatives, it still probably saved me money/definitely saved time. aside from family stuff, my check needs are very few - when they're needed, there isn't a lot of wiggle room for time, though.

walmart had the best price, out of a several sites I checked, for fast delivery time. they were delivered this morning and look fine, but I've never received checks that weren't in a traditional box before - they put them in small folders, multiple books rubber-cemented on either side. I didn't notice they call their offerings "packs" when I ordered.

google tells me that it's a security thing - potential thieves won't recognize the usual boxes. now I wonder why other companies don't do something similar.

*no idea what happened, but I started a costco reorder a couple of months ago and then somehow didn't complete it and completely and totally forgot about 'em. the order was in the cart. d'oh!
