hah! I once had a long conversation in the UK looking for Beauchamp street. I pronounced it in French.

after several minutes of conversation, and three people going "nope, no Beauchamp street around here. don't know what you're talking about." I wrote it down, then old English lady was all "ohhhhhhh love, you mean Beach-am. That's just around the corner."
