The cast is amazing (aside from the oddness of Josh Hartnett and Rachael Leigh Cook playing British). Rickman plays a hair dresser whose wife (Natasha Richardson) left him for her lover (Rachel Griffiths). He's running a salon in a small town with his son (Hartnett) until the national hairdressing competition comes to town, along with the reigning champ (Bill Nighy) and his daughter (Cook).

It's funny, sweet and heartwrenching.
