Some days cancer *doesn't* win.

My friend is out of surgery and it went really well (there was concern of her surviving it, at all).
Spleen removed (apparently it was huge, giant tumour).
But! best of all was this news (quoting from the text): "The best news is what he didn't see: there weren't 'hundreds of flakes or nodules of new growth all over the place.' Everything looks clean. So that's great. "

There had been indications from the scans that there were new small tumours everywhere. Apparently not true? Athough, i think it was confirmed last fall that there were quite a few. but i didn't know that 'hundreds' were actually a possibility.
