There are lies and there are lies. There are the lies of promising various policies and not delivering. Maybe not even pursuing them. There are

practical realities that effect how those things play out and what priorities there are. Those don't really bother me. They still tell me something true about the politician in terms of what they believe.
There are lies where risks are minimized or benefits overblown. Again, those don't bother me that much. I can investigate and figure things out. It's advertising.
Then there are the insidious lies. The information not just spun for advantage but just wholly made up. There is illegal and deceitful behavior. That's a whole different story. I don't think every politician goes there. They may all go to dinner with the lobbyists, but they aren't all selling their votes for personal gain. These are the things where it really matters to me.
