Yes, a chonological cut with more footage. These are some other differences I have seen so far.

I thought that shot into the mouth was new, but I wasn't sure.

There was a scene where Fanucci is stabbed by street thugs and survives.

They also added a segment where Vito tracks down and kills the men who worked for Don Ciccio before he goes after the Don.

I don't remember the scene where they named Arnold Rothstein, but I think that was new.

Another major added scene is when Vito and his sons go to visit the dying Genco in the hospital. Vito has a talk with Michael that clarified some things.

All that is in the first 2 hours.
