However, I know that there's a *zero* percent chance that anything I do/say/link/type/etc/ is going to change his mind, so it's a topic I don't deal with if I chat with him.

So, why would I even bother or continue to 'debate' it with him, if I know with 100% certainty what his stance is and that his stance is not changing, ever?

It's the definition of insanity.
