That shows an utter lack of understanding of the Fermi Paradox.

The argument is that there's so many worlds, so many possible permutations...
To say "they're all extinct" goes counter to the Fermi Paradox as it implies there's a finite number of worlds and permutations.
The simple answer is that the universe is so big, finding another civilization would be like finding a needle in a globular cluster.
