I get that art is subjective, and I can usually understand how people might enjoy even the movies I hate the most, but...
-There isn't a major movie cliche that they didn't shoehorn into those two hours.
-Leads with no chemistry.
-Dreadful dialogue.
-A hilariously ham-handed overarching "conformity is bad!" theme.
-Zero subtlety.
-The balls to use possibly the most overused trope in science fiction (overcoming your worst fears).
There quite literally wasn't a single interesting or new idea, or scrap of dialogue in the entire movie. Not one.
