I would certainly have a full inspection and also actual estimates if possible.

To me it looks like someone was about 3/4 of the way through a remodel and ran out of money. The HUD website had a little information. The furnace does look old and I'd rather have gas vs. Oil heat, but it does have central air. The best I could tell it looked like the wiring was new. I have no idea about the plumbing.
