But even with Hillary, she still almost got the nomination. so, it's not really that those polls were meaningless.

It's that an unknown came in, and rallied the Democratic party, and took it from Hillary.
We just don't see that happening with Trump. It could, but his lead is big enough that history shows he'll at least be in the nomination to the end.
