I had that happen once in college when donating as well and it sucked for sure.

NB: They never missed in my left arm so I've only let them take from my left ever since.
It was very painful as the 'wiggle' around trying to find it, and a bruise is normal. I did not have the zapping/spasming though. If that continues, perhaps contact a nurseline?
