Has anyone encountered this iTunes issue: "The iTunes update server could not be contacted."

"Please check your internet connection, or try again later."
I get this when I select "Check for updates" from the Help menu.
My internet connection id fine. I can access the iTunes store and my account. It doesn't appear that Windows Defender is blocking it.
Thoughts?
