what free pass? it is undisputed (to this point, and the investigation is still ongoing so things could always change) that none of the emails were

marked classified at the time they were sent or received.

State Dept. or other agencies may be making these classification determinations as the bulk of the emails are reviewed for public release, but that's not on Hillary at the time they were sent/received

but even if it was the scandal that her critics want to believe it is, then they should have been equally concerned when all of her predecessors in the position using private email servers were setting the precedent
