I'm a Michigan guy and I totally agree. I think schools have to much power over the students in this (and many other) areas. First of all, I think

scholarships should be guaranteed until graduation (even if that takes 6 years), unless there are bad acts on the part of the student. You don't have to keep them on the team (and if you don't it shouldn't count against your available team scholarships), but they should get the free education promised. And if they want to go elsewhere and play, if you don't want them they should be free to do so. Wherever. Students just get screwed by this stuff.
