So you would be relocating to supervise something being phased out? Or if you stay that's what you'll be supervising?
To me, the commute increase would be an absurd dealbreaker. So it would come down to how confident I would be in being able to find something else like you said, at a comparable salary or proximity. I I was confident I could find something else, I'd stay. If there was any doubt, I'd move.
It comes down to known vs unknown and I'd feel much better with the known.
