Having moved across the country for a job (twice) - the problem Carrie and I had moving away from here was leaving family behind.

Within a year of our move, it was enough to bring us back home.
That doesn't seem to be a major issue for you and the fact that they've targeted you (for lack of a better term) speaks volumes about what they think of you as an employee.
Maybe this is my roots as a life-long midwesterner - but I'd make the move. I think you'll love TN. The weather, the bigger yards, the slower speed.
True - you'd be WAY close to David...but, you'd also be close to Kim - which kinda evens itself out.
Unless you guys have something really tie-ing you to the area you're in - I would probably take the chance.
