Rubber Soul influenced Pet Sounds. Pet Sounds influenced Revolver and St. Pepper.
The bands were friends and friendly rivals.
Responses:
Both true. But you hear the influence in much more than that and still today. Everywhere from the Ramones to Wilco, My Morning Jacket and on.

I'm certainly not suggesting he's the only influence, but considering he influenced the beatles as well it's an extremely significant role in rock
