It's more that he thinks the focus on discrimination is distracting from what he sees as the main issue - "radical Islam"

I'm more on the Obama side of things - it's important to focus on discrimination against Muslims because it means less Muslim disenfranchisement in America and less "radical Islam", and it also means better intelligence that will support the fight against "radical Islam"
