The backwards looking focus on Iowa seems a misguided waste of effort to me. Technically Santorum won IA four years ago...

...but it was called for Romney on the night of the caucus and that the story that played out moving forward. Sure there was a footnote (the next day) that Santorum actually won, but Iowa was over and everyone was moving on.
Sanders has a good story coming out of IA - virtual tie. Even if he were to find out he won by one vote, it's not going to change the momentum and story of the race. So why expend all this effort?
(Also, last time the Sanders campaign said they weren't given access to something by the party, it was bullshit, wasn't it?)
