I'm not sure about doubles, crimson or otherwise.

Of course, it only really matters in trials. Everything else you can just use icebreaker. Even with trials, sidearms are unaffected. So you'll either be going up against people who use NLB and a sidearm, more people using NLB in general, or (probably the most prevalent) people starting with a sidearm and switching to sniper/shotgun after they die or between rounds. The right spawn on widows court (and some others) 2 people can jump off quick, switch, and be revived by the third. Works best if the third person is wearing a helmet with angel of light perk and the others have quick revive armor.
