I think I knew those "period correct" folks. Or at least their ancestors.

There was a group that would routinely make the trek from Northern California (the West Kingdom) to join us for events in the southern part of the Oregon (from Eugene down to Medford). They were ... a bit stringent. And weren't afraid to be vocal about it.

I'm all for being as accurate as possible while still having fun. But if the rules allow archers to tip arrows with old tennis balls, there are times when you just have to actively suspend your disbelief and move on.

Besides, the parties at night more than made up for the daily bickering about obscure topics.
