I have no doubts that essentially every politician, whether I support them or not, says and does things at different times to appease different people.
If you want someone that does and believes everything you do, you'll be waiting forever. You just have to trust that fundamentally they are a good person and if faced with a big decision they are going to do essentially the right thing. That's the best you can possibly hope for.
