Okay, help me out here. What is different about a phone and any other product with security in terms of access following proper legal protocol?

If I own a safe, and the feds bust in with a warrant related to my finances; they are legally able to get access to that safe, are they not?
And my bank records, correct?
Why is a phone any different? Why should a phone be any different?

That in a nutshell is why I am team FBI in this case; as long as they follow standard legal protocols for warrants.
Apple's made themselves separate from the law in my opinion and quite frankly, they shouldn't be.
