Why did Trump winning seem impossible? It only seemed unlikely because many of us wanted to believe the GOP still had the ability to act rationally.

It's becoming clear that rationality has fled the party base.

And the GOP is NOT representative of the majority of American voters. They weren't 4 years ago. They weren't 8 years ago. And the demographics have continued to work against them in the last 4 years.
